Straw Dog Wins CAMRA  Silver Medal
in the Champion Beer of Britain Competition

The Wolf Brewery has triumphed in a nationwide competition of real ale brewers and taken the silver medal at the Great British Beer festival with their top selling beer Straw Dog 4.5%.

This was the first beer designed from scratch by our  Head Brewer Derek Dunstan and immediately won the Gold award Bedford Beer festival in 2004.

"We knew we had a winner as soon as we first tasted it one freezing Monday morning in January 2004, during our regular evaluation session. 2 members of staff went home early, it was so good!" said a happy Derek.

Straw dog has consistently won awards up and down the country and this latest award proves this beer is still at the top of it's tree. We can’t wait to brew it on our new plant!

In 2005 the brewery swept the board by winning, not only overall champion, but Gold, Silver and Bronze with different beers at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers Association) National conference.

The Great British Beer Festival Is Held every year in London and represents the majority of real ale brewers large and small in the UK.

JANUARY 2008 - FIRST AWARDS OF THE YEAR!

At the SIBA East Region Beer Competition a panel of independent brewers voted Wolf Coyote Bitter as the best Best Bitter in the region. The beer went further, to win the Silver Medal in the overall competition.

Golden Jackal also won a Silver in the 'Bitters up to 3.9%' category. 

Supreme Champion 2005

At the 2005 Silver Jubilee Championships of SIBA, the Society of Independent Brewers, Granny Wouldn't Like It! won Champion Premium Ale and was voted Supreme Champion of the Competition.

Gold and Silver Medals were also scooped for Woild Moild and Golden Jackal bitter.

Other Awards

  

Golden Jackal won the 2005 Silver Medal at the SIBA National Cask Ale Championship, 2004 Overall Champion at the SIBA East Anglian Awards and 2004 Silver Medal at the Norwich Beer Fesitval.

  

Coyote Bitter was a 2000 Finalist at the Champion Beer of Britain, 1997 Finalist at the Champion Beer of Britain and 1997 Finalist at the Champion Beer of East Anglia.
